Unprecedented Favor TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe...” (Ephesians 1:19, AMP) TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria Every one of us can say that, in our lives, God has been good to us. We’ve all seen God’s favor at work. He has protected us, promoted us and opened doors for us. That’s God’s favor. But I believe that in the coming days, God wants to show us unprecedented favor — that’s favor like we haven’t seen before. In today’s verse, Paul said that in the “ages to come” we would see “the immeasurable, unlimited, surpassing greatness of God’s favor.” What’s interesting is that Paul wrote this passage ages ago. I believe that we are now living in the “ages to come” that Paul was talking about. I believe you and I are going to see this unprecedented favor! The word “unprecedented” means “unmatched, unparalleled, for the first time.” In other words, you may have seen God’s favor in the past, but you need to get ready. You haven’t seen anything yet. What God has in your future is going to be bigger, better, greater — unprecedented! He is going to show you His goodness in ways you’ve never seen before. There are two major parts to being trustworthy. First there are shared values.. People only trust someone who values the same things they value. They then know that they can trust that person to make decisions that match their joint values.

Some leaders value themselves more then they value their people. They spend lots of money on themselves and their families, but not on the people. A leader may be successful in telling the people that they share values for the "next day, next week, and next month" but that does not work for "next year" and "next five years". Sooner or later, someone finds out how the money is being spent. When they find out, they will no longer trust the leader.

People will do a lot for someone who shares their values and who loves them. They know that they can trust that person to make the same kind of decisions they themselves would make because they share the same values.

People trusted George Washington because they saw that he shared their values. The people valued being free from the British. Washington was a wealthy farmer, but he thought winning freedom from the British was more important than his farm. So he risked everything he owned and his life by leading the army.  That proved that he valued being free from the British. When he became general, he was general of the Northern army even though he himself was from the South. The people wondered if he valued people from the North being free or just people from the South being free. The fact that he worked hard for the Northern army led the people to see that he valued their freedom as well as Southerner's freedom.

When battles came, Washington showed that he valued his soldiers by being close to them and running some of the same risks as the soldiers themselves did . He further showed his love for them by staying in the soldier’s cold and difficult winter camp with them. He could have gone home and enjoyed the comforts of his home. But he stayed with his soldiers because he cared for them. He pleaded with Congress to get them clothes and food. The soldiers could see that Washington valued them, and so they trusted him.

Do you need refreshing today? So many people go around overwhelmed, tired, worn down, barely getting by. But that's not God's best. He wants us to prosper. He wants us to be refreshed. Here's the key: be generous and refresh others. Is there someone at the office you can be a blessing to? Can you lighten someone's load? Maybe a family member is going through a hard time. Can you help them out? Can you cook them a meal? Refreshing someone can be as simple as a smile or an encouraging word. Don't wait until you feel like doing it, that day may never come! Do it because the Scripture tells us to. Do it because it blesses the Lord.

Today, look for someone to be a blessing to. As you step out and refresh others, as you live a life of generosity, you will be refreshed and experience His blessing in your own life in return.

So many people today desire God’s blessing in their lives, but did you know He commands blessing when we are at peace with the people around us?

As believers, we are called to work together in unity so that we can fulfill God’s purposes. We are called to serve one another in love and serve together in the house of the Lord. Is there someone in your life that you don’t quite get along with? The Bible says to pray for that person and go out of your way to be a blessing to them. It isn’t easy, but the reward is eternal. His blessing is everlasting.

In the Bible, just before David fought the giant Goliath, his brother Iliab tried to confront him. David knew that arguing with Iliab wasn't even worth his time and strength. He knew his real battle was with Goliath, and he didn't want to be distracted. He simply "turned away" from Iliab and kept his focus on what he was called to do. In our own lives today, most frustrations aren't worth our energy. When we avoid strife, it is a mark of honor.

Today, I encourage you to turn away from strife. Keep your focus on what God has called you to do. As you do, you will live in honor, and you'll move forward in the destiny He has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for Your hand of victory in my life. Give me the wisdom and courage I need to walk away from strife so I can focus on the destiny You have prepared for me. I love You and bless You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
