VISION & MISSION

VISION & MISSION: The kingdom of God has come to us, now is come the kingdom of our Lord, and the kingdom of God is near. Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God. Everything is possible for him who believes. God is our strength and through Him we will encourage the timid, and help the weak. With God's mercy we shall go into all the world and preach the good news of gospel; and proclaim in His name about repentance for forgiveness of sins to all nations. We pray for salvation, healing and redemption in His name Jesus Christ. By faith in love and hope, we press on toward the goal according to His plan. For, nothing is impossible with God. mUic];ehLKm];TL,wrL.JPL;sw]:n}.Et,pQn]w}.tL,hw];yw].eSmI;w}.yU,mUiw]:lQw]El:tuik].mL;sm]nL,"kUn];ekL.etkin]Kw]:mun];nG];mUic];ehLKm];JPL;sw]:n}.mI;tac];lImac],klL,kU:ekL."tL,ekL.yum],n}.An],lG]ekL:pQn]l}:kU:mQw];yw]."JPL;sw]:pQn]AQn]hqc];hw];El:lUv]:mn];sw]:eShw];etpn]hqc];tI:ekL.sG]lQk].sG]ng}.eSEl:sg}:Tqm]ekL.hqc];AUn]:nuc];sG]Kw]"lUv]:krunL,JPL;sw]:eShw];etkGL,nG];km];PL,elL;kn}.kU:tI:'ehL;lat]:Kaw],lIkGam];JtL;sw]:'El:hgc].eSL,lgc]:ngc],twa},sG]Kuin];tL,l}:An]pg},wac];KGac].pn]nn].'tI:kUn];kU:mUic];kU:sUiw].KUiw];lUv]:suiw]:sw]:ey,Su"hw];SU;tgc];nG];suiw]:sw]:ey,SuKrit]:Ek,Kzt]'yUt];yL'T},Tut],pUt];pg},pn]lgt]:lqw];"lUv]:tac];yum],'tac];hk].'tac];muc]:mgc];eShw];suin],hqc];tuic]:Kuin]:nL:kGL,sU;yUic];ma}sgm];wac];Pqn]sw]:"pUiw]:wL:epL;pL;TL,wrL.JPL;sw]:n}.An]Am],pQn]l}:Am],mI;"

ABRAHAM’S SACRIFICE
A Great Test of Love

The Lord came to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your children, and to their children, and it will be their land forever.” Abram built an altar and made an offering to the Lord and worshiped Him.
Another time, God told Abram, “Can you count the stars? Neither will you be able to count your descendants.” Abram believed God would give him many descendants even though he had no children yet. Later God changed Abram’s name to Abraham, which means father of a multitude. He promised to give Abraham and his wife, Sarah, a son, a people, and a land. Abraham promised to serve God faithfully.
One day three strangers came to Abraham’s tent door. By this time Abraham was one hundred years old and Sarah ninety years old. The strangers told Abraham that Sarah would have a son. Sarah overheard it and laughed to herself, “How can I have a child when I am so old?”
But the men who were angels sent by God said, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
Finally the promised child indeed was born to Abraham and Sarah. They named him Isaac as the Lord had told them to. They were very happy to have a little boy.
Then one day God said to Abraham, “Take now your only son, whom you love, and go to a mountain which I will show you. Offer him there for a burnt offering.”
Though the command filled Abraham’s heart with pain, he began to obey at once. With two servants and a donkey, Abraham and Isaac started northward.
On the third day, Abraham and young Isaac went up on the mountain by themselves. There Abraham built an altar. He placed the wood in order, tied Isaac, and laid him on it. At last he raised his knife to kill his son.
Just then the angel of the Lord called, “Abraham, do not hurt your son Isaac! Now I know you love God more than your son.” What joy and relief those heavenly words brought to Abraham!
Then Abraham turned and saw a ram caught by its horns in the bushes. How thankful Abraham was to offer the ram instead of his son.
 Genesis 15:1-6; 21; 22

Caption: Abraham is thankful that he does not have to offer his son.

Parents:       He that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (Matthew 10:37b)

Children:    1. What does the name Abraham mean?
2. How old was Abraham when Isaac was born?
3. Why do you think God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son?

ABRAM AND LOT
Sodom is Destroyed

Abram took his wife, Sara, and his tents, sheep, cattle, and servants, and left his home in Ur. His nephew Lot, who also had animals and tents, went with them. They crossed rivers and climbed hills until at last they came into the land of Canaan. This was the land God had told Abram about.
They set up their tents and prepared to live there. Every morning, the herdsmen took the livestock out to pasture, but they soon ran into a problem. There was not enough land for all the animals. Abram and Lot would have to separate.
“You may choose whether to go or stay,” Abram told Lot.
Lot looked toward the city of Sodom. The land around it was beautiful with green grass and plenty of water. He chose the best land and moved his animals and possessions to Sodom.
One day, a while later, three men came to Abram and told him that God was going to destroy Sodom because the people were so wicked. These men were angels from God. One big sin of Sodom was that men married men and women married women. God wants one man to marry one woman. But the people of Sodom did not care about God’s law.
Abram pleaded with God to spare Sodom. God agreed that if ten righteous people could be found in Sodom, He would not destroy the city. But not even ten people loved God.
Lot was sitting in the city gate when the angels arrived in Sodom. He welcomed the visitors and took them home with him for the night. The angels warned Lot that God would destroy the city. The next morning, they said, “Hurry, take your wife, and your daughters, and get out of the city.” They quickly led Lot and his wife and daughters out of the city, warning the small group not to look back.
Then the Lord sent fire and brimstone out of heaven and burned up the city of Sodom and the land around it. Lot’s wife could not resist looking back, and she was turned into a pillar of salt.
What a sad story. Lot selfishly chose the most beautiful land and ended up losing his wife and home. God wants us to stay away from evil. It is His will that one man marries one woman. God will judge people who do not do right. But those who obey God, like Abram did, will be blessed.
 Genesis 13, 18, 19

Caption: Faithful Abram takes his family to the land of Canaan.

Parents:       By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. (Hebrews 11:8)

Children:    1. To what land did Abram take his wife and Lot?
2. Who chose the best land? Where was it?
3. Why did God destroy Sodom?

TOWER OF BABEL
The Beginning of Different Languages

The great flood that God had sent soon became a dim memory in the minds of Noah’s children. Their families continued to grow until there were many people in the world. But the thoughts of their hearts were again becoming evil.
As people traveled from the east, they found some level land. At that time all the people spoke the same language. They said to each other, “Let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly. Then let us build a big city with a very high tower in it. We will make a name for ourselves so that we will never be scattered.”
They began to build the city and the tower. But the Lord came down from heaven to see this thing, and it displeased Him very much.
God caused men to speak different languages, which they had never spoken before. The builders could not finish their city and tower because they were not able to understand each other anymore. They stopped the work and began spreading apart into other lands. The unfinished city was named Babel, a word meaning confusion. Ever since that time, many languages are spoken on the earth.
As time went on, more and more people prayed to images of wood and stone called idols. They thought these images were gods that could hear their prayers and help them. These people did not call on the true God or know His will. They did many evil things.
But the Lord God saw a different kind of man in the city of Ur. This man, Abram, prayed to the Lord and always tried to do His will even though wicked people lived all around him. The Lord said, “Abram, go away from this place. Leave your father’s house and go to a place that I will show you. I will bless you and make you a blessing to others.” Abram obeyed God, even though he did not understand.
 Genesis 10-12

NOAH—THE ARK BUILDER
History’s First Boat Ride

After a long while, there were many people on the earth. Sad to say, they had become very wicked. God decided to destroy them by sending a flood.
As God looked down from heaven, He saw one good man called Noah. Because Noah was God’s friend, God told him about the flood He was going to send. He commanded Noah to build a big ark, and told him exactly how to do it.
No doubt the wicked people laughed at Noah for building this great boat when there was no water for it to float on. But Noah kept right on building as God had commanded. He believed God’s Word. Noah also preached to the people about God and the punishment that was coming.
Finally the ark was finished, more than one hundred years later. God told Noah to come into the ark with his family of eight. God caused animals, birds, and creeping things to enter the ark so that some of every kind could be kept alive. When they were all safe inside, God shut the door.
After seven days, it began to rain. It rained forty days and forty nights without stopping. Rain fell as if it poured out of great windows in the heavens. Water flooded the whole earth until there was no dry ground or breath of life left on it.
High above the earth floated the ark with Noah and his family. After many days the water began to go down, and the ark bumped onto the mountains of Ararat. One day Noah opened the window of the ark and sent out a dove. But the dove came back, because it could not find a dry place to stay. A week later, Noah sent out the dove again. This time it returned with a leaf in its beak. The water must be below the trees by now! The next time he sent out the dove, it did not come back. Then Noah knew the earth had become dry again.
God called Noah and his family out of the ark. Noah was so thankful to God for saving their lives that he built an altar of worship. There God formed a beautiful rainbow in the sky. He told Noah that it was a sign of His promise never again to destroy the earth with a flood.
 Genesis 6; 7; 8; 9:1-18

He Collects Your Tears
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in Your bottle. You have recorded each one in Your book"
(Psalm 56:8, NLT))
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Do you know how important you are to God? He cares so much about every detail of your life. He cares about your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. In fact, what you are going through is so important to Him that He records every sorrow and collects every tear you've shed. Why would God record your sorrows and collect your tears? Because He loves you so much, and He is your Vindicator. He's keeping account of every wrong that's ever been done to you so that He can make up for every single one of them. He wants to restore everything that has ever been stolen. He wants to heal every single hurt and pain. He sees the longings and desires of your heart, and you can rest knowing that He is working things out for your good!
So today, know that you are precious to Him. He has your best interest at heart. He is working to bring restoration and peace to you. Keep standing, keep believing, and keep doing the right thing because the One who collects your tears will restore every broken place in your life!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me and setting me free. Thank You for being my Vindicator. I choose to release every hurt, pain and sorrow, knowing that You will make all things new in Your time. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

CAIN KILLS HIS BROTHER ABEL
The First Family

After Adam and Eve left the garden of Eden, God gave them a child—the world’s first baby. They named him Cain. Then another baby was born, whom they named Abel. Cain liked to work in the fields and raise grain and fruit. Abel became a shepherd who enjoyed tending sheep.
Now that Adam and Eve were cast out of the garden, they could no longer talk with God as freely as before. When they came to God, they built an altar of stone and laid something on it as a gift to God. They burned the gift to show that it did not belong to them anymore. Now it belonged to God whom they could not see. They also prayed before the altar.
One day Cain and Abel each offered a gift on an altar. Cain brought fruit and grain, and Abel brought a lamb from his flock. The lamb Abel offered was like the Savior that God had promised: gentle, patient, and innocent. God was pleased with the worship of Abel.
But God was not pleased with Cain’s offering. Instead of being sorry for his sin, Cain became very angry. He did not ask God to forgive him.
One day when they were in the field together, Cain rose up and killed Abel! So the world’s first baby grew up to be the first murderer. He killed his own brother.
Later another son was born to Adam and Eve. They named him Seth, which means substitute. “Now God hath given me another son, since Cain killed Abel,” said Eve. Then people began to call on the name of the Lord.
