Singing their way to Freedom

Sometimes we feel trapped by a situation where it seems like there’s no way out. Perhaps it’s in a relationship that’s going nowhere or in a difficult job or in debt from past financial excesses. Whatever our situation, God wants us to keep praising him. He is more than able to deliver us!

Paul and Silas didn’t sit around in prison discussing why things were wrong. They could have accused God of being unjust, for he was the One who called them to Macedonia, but they did not. As they lay there bruised and bleeding after a severe beating, they prayed and sang praises to God. Soon afterward, God flung open the prison doors.

The doors to our “prisons” will swing open in God’s own timing, but praise and worship in the midst of these circumstances will free our hearts and souls. When surrounded by problems, remember Paul and Silas example. Then begin expressing praise to God.

Ask Jesus to come into the “prison” of your situation, and await his deliverance with praise and worship.

We learned that wings meant speed and eyes meant they were able to see everything. Prayer: Our heavenly Father God, who sits on the throne, who is the LORD of Lords and the King of kings, the eternal King, and who sees allthings! please have mercy and compassion on us Lord!  We are glad and thankful that You gave Your Son Jesus for us. God loves you so much today! He wants you to know and experience His love. When you experience something, it becomes real to you. You “own” it, so to speak. For example, let’s say you’ve never eaten chocolate before. Someone else can describe it to you. They can tell you all about the taste and texture, but until you take a bite of it, it won’t really mean anything.

In the same way, you can hear all about God’s love and how wonderful He is, but it’s not until you experience it first hand and allow His love to sink down into your heart that something happens on the inside of you. His love changes you. It builds confidence and strength in you. It empowers you to overcome temptation and to stand strong no matter what difficulty you may be facing. When you open your heart and receive His love, you will be fully persuaded that nothing can separate you from Him!
