VISION & MISSION

VISION & MISSION: “The kingdom of God has come to us.” Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” “the kingdom of God is in your midst.” Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God. Everything is possible for him who believes. God is our strength and through Him we will encourage the timid, and help the weak. With God's mercy we shall go into all the world and preach the good news of gospel; and proclaim in Jesus’ name about repentance for forgiveness of sins to all nations. We pray for salvation, healing and redemption in Christ Jesus. By faith in love and hope, we press on toward the goal according to His plan. For, nothing is impossible with God. mUic];ehLKm];TL,wrL.JPL;sw]:n}.Et,pQn]w}.tL,hw];yw].eSmI;w}.yU,mUiw]:lQw]El:tuik].mL;sm]nL,"kUn];ekL.etkin]Kw]:mun];nG];mUic];ehLKm];JPL;sw]:n}.mI;tac];lImac],klL,kU:ekL."tL,ekL.yum],n}.An],lG]ekL:pQn]l}:kU:mQw];yw]."JPL;sw]:pQn]AQn]hqc];hw];El:lUv]:mn];sw]:eShw];etpn]hqc];tI:ekL.sG]lQk].sG]ng}.eSEl:sg}:Tqm]ekL.hqc];AUn]:nuc];sG]Kw]"lUv]:krunL,JPL;sw]:eShw];etkGL,nG];km];PL,elL;kn}.kU:tI:'ehL;lat]:Kaw],lIkGam];JtL;sw]:'El:hgc].eSL,lgc]:ngc],twa},sG]Kuin];tL,l}:An]pg},wac];KGac].pn]nn].'tI:kUn];kU:mUic];kU:sUiw].KUiw];lUv]:suiw]:sw]:ey,Su"hw];SU;tgc];nG];suiw]:sw]:ey,SuKrit]:Ek,Kzt]'yUt];yL'T},Tut],pUt];pg},pn]lgt]:lqw];"lUv]:tac];yum],'tac];hk].'tac];muc]:mgc];eShw];suin],hqc];tuic]:Kuin]:nL:kGL,sU;yUic];ma}sgm];wac];Pqn]sw]:"pUiw]:wL:epL;pL;TL,wrL.JPL;sw]:n}.An]Am],pQn]l}:Am],mI;"

HAMAN’S EVIL PLOT
Esther Speaks for her People

After Esther had become queen, King Ahasuerus honored Haman, one of his aides, and set him above all the princes. He commanded all the palace servants to bow before Haman. But Mordecai the Jew, who worshiped only God, refused to bow to him. Outraged, Haman told the king, “There is a certain race of people scattered throughout your kingdom that refuses to obey the king’s laws. If it pleases the king, let a law be made that these Jews be destroyed.”
The king agreed to this request, and it was decided that all the Jews would be killed on a certain day. He gave Haman his ring to seal the new law. Soon many copies of it were rushed all over Persia. Then Haman celebrated by drinking wine with the king. But neither the king nor Haman knew that Queen Esther was a Jew.
The Jews were stunned when they heard of the terrible new law. Mordecai mourned openly in the city of Shushan. He told Esther to go and ask the king for mercy, even though she would be risking her life. “Who knows,” he said, “maybe God has brought you into the palace for such a time as this!”
After three days of fasting, Queen Esther dressed in her royal robes and went to the king. Would he condemn her to death for coming without being called? No, Ahasuerus welcomed her to him. Instead of making her real request known right away, she merely invited the king and Haman to a banquet she had planned.
How honored Haman felt! He boasted about it to his wife Zeresh. “But all this does me no good,” he said, “as long as I see Mordecai refusing to bow to me!”
“Well,” suggested Zeresh, “prepare a gallows for Mordecai. In the morning ask the king to let you hang him on it.”
King Ahasuerus knew that his queen had some special favor to ask. The second day at the banquet he said, “Tell me, what is your wish?”
Esther replied, “I only ask for my life and the lives of my people, for we are about to be killed by this wicked Haman.”
When the king heard this, he was furious with Haman. One of his servants said, “Haman has planned to hang Mordecai on a seventy-five foot gallows.”
“Hang Haman on it,” the king thundered. So Haman was hanged on his own gallows.

Words of the God of all comfort

When Jesus comforts the sisters and raises Lazarus from the death,
23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
40 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”
49 ……., Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, spoke up,......, he prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation, 52 and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one. (John 11:23,25-26,40,49-52, NIV)
25 Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.(John 21:25,NIV)

ESTHER—THE JEWESS
The King Chooses a new Queen

Esther was a Jewish orphan who lived in the land of Persia. Her parents, along with many other Israelites, had been brought there years before as captives.
One day the Persian governors, aides, and army officers came to the palace at Shushan for a long holiday. King Ahasuerus wanted to dazzle them with all his splendor and wealth. The final week of merrymaking was spent on feasting and drinking royal wine.
Meanwhile Queen Vashti also gave a party for the women of the palace. On the last day of the feast she received a royal summons. The king, giddy from all the wine, wanted to show off her beauty to the men with him. Queen Vashti did not want to disgrace herself in this way. She refused to come to the king.
This made the king furious. He asked, “What shall we do with a queen who dares to disobey the king?”
Memucan, one of the king’s wise men, answered, “Queen Vashti has wronged not only you, the king, but also every citizen of your empire. Women everywhere will begin to disobey their husbands when they hear about this. Therefore banish Vashti from your presence and choose another queen more worthy than her.”
Immediately Ahasuerus followed this advice. But after his wrath had cooled, he began brooding over the loss of Queen Vashti. So his aides suggested, “Let us bring together the most beautiful virgins from your empire. The girl who pleases you most shall be queen instead of Vashti.” This advice also pleased the king, and he agreed to the plan.
Esther was one of the many beautiful girls brought to the king. After her parents had died, her cousin Mordecai had raised her as his own daughter. Every day Mordecai went to the palace to see how Esther was doing.
Finally each girl in her turn went in to the king. Many had requested extra trinkets and finery, but not Esther. Her very simplicity only brought out her beauty more than ever. When the king saw Esther, he loved her above all the other virgins. The king set the royal crown upon her head. So Esther the orphan became Esther the queen.

JEHOSHAPHAT’S SINGING ARMY
A Choir Wins a Battle

Jehoshaphat was a wise and strong king of Judah. He served the Lord with all his heart. He got rid of all the idols in the land and sent priests throughout the country to teach the people God’s Law.
Then Jehoshaphat heard that the Moabites, Ammonites, and Edomites had banded together against him. They were encamped with a great army near the Dead Sea. Because of this, frightened families from all the cities of Judah came together to seek the Lord. In utter dependence upon the Lord, they fasted and prayed at the temple, seeking an answer from Him. Jehoshaphat stood among them and led his people in fervent prayer.
Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel, one of the Levites. He said, “Do not fear this great host, for the battle is not yours, but the Lord’s. Be faithful, stand still, and see how the Lord will save you.” This brought great comfort to everyone.
Early in the morning Jehoshaphat praised God for the victory that would be won that day. He asked the people about sending a choir ahead of their army. Everyone agreed and singers were appointed for the choir.
Have you ever heard of an army led by singers marching toward the enemy? Can you imagine hearing all those voices echoing throughout the valley!
At the first sounds of singing and praising, the Lord set ambushes against the Moabites, Ammonites, and Edomites. The Ammonites and Moabites became so confused that they destroyed the Edomites, then continued destroying each other.
By the time the singing army arrived they found only dead bodies. There was no need to fight, just as the Lord had said. For three days they gathered the riches, jewels, and other spoils. On the fourth day they blessed their God and returned to Judah and Jerusalem with great joy.

GOD DELIVERS ISRAEL FROM FAMINE
Four Lepers Take a Risk

The king of Syria led his mighty army into the land of Israel to war against them. They surrounded the city of Samaria, trying to force the people to surrender.
Day after day the food in Samaria became more and more scarce. The people became desperate for food.
One day a mother came to the king for help. Her friend was not following through with an agreement about eating their sons. The king was shocked and horrified to learn that the situation was that terrible. He blamed the trouble on Elisha, vowing to behead him.
Then Elisha prophesied, “Tomorrow at this hour the siege will be ended. Flour and barley will be sold cheaply at the gate.”
That evening four outcast lepers decided to risk entering the Syrian camp to beg for food. They said, “In the city we will die anyway. Maybe we have a better chance with the Syrians.”
Before the lepers arrived in the camp, the Lord had already performed a miracle to fulfill the prophecy of Elisha. He had simply caused the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots, horses, and a great army. They thought the king of Israel had hired the Hittites and the Egyptians to attack them. Filled with terror they fled, leaving their tents, horses, donkeys, and all their food.
The four lepers found only a deserted camp. They helped themselves to food, silver, gold, clothing, and other treasures. Joyfully they stashed the things in a hiding place and returned for more. Then they stopped. “We must tell the king about this,” they said. “We should not be selfish.”
Before dawn the king was awakened with the news. He said, “This is just a trick to get us out of the city.” Therefore several brave men were sent to look around. They found the way toward Syria littered with clothes and other things. The men were soon convinced that the Syrians were truly gone.
Then the people poured out of the city to pounce on the spoils of the Syrian camp.
