The Shepherd and His Flock ¹ “I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. ² The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. ³ The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. Something About That Name

His name was called JESUS, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.

There's just something about that name! As He is King of kings, so His name is above all names. "Jesus" is a simple word--five letters in the English. Yeshua in Hebrew. Joshua in the Old Testament--the name of a warrior (Joshua 1:1) and of a priest (Zechariah 3:1). Yet somehow His name stirs the deepest passions in humanity. To believers it's a holy word; to others it's a curse.

The Bible says, "Call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21). We're to forsake all for His Name; and though we'll be hated of all nations because of His name, yet the message of repentance and remission of sins is to be preached in His name to all nations (Matthew 19:29, 24:9; Luke 24:47).

Peter reminds us, "There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). And at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11).

Jesus! Because of His name, ours are written in Heaven.

Anytime you find that you don’t have peace about something on the inside of your heart, when you feel an uneasiness, that’s a sign that you should stop and pray and make sure you are in line with God’s direction.
