Anytime we set out to
do something great in life, there will be critics. Some people will despise us
and everyone scorn us; all who see us mock us; they will hurl insults, shaking
their heads. However, keep doing what is good anyway.
It’s crucial that we
don’t let the negative voices distract us. It doesn’t matter what others think;
it matters what God thinks. Stand strong in adversity. Stay connected to
Christ, like branches that thrive are connected to the flourishing tree.
Sunlight is received by the leaves and water is drawn up through the roots. In
the same way, when we are connected to Christ, opportunities and blessings we
cannot imagine in our own strength become available to us. Jesus Christ is
life. He is the author and finisher of our faith. When we have Jesus we have everything.
So in everything set an example by doing what is good, be a model of good deeds
and works. Be joyful daily and do not worry or panic. Stand firm in the faith
and be not doubtful or undecided. Dig our heels in, do our best and never give
up. “For we are God’s handiwork,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”(Ephesians 2:10,NIV). We will not get drawn into battle that
don’t matter. We will walk in the truth by remembering and obeying what is said
by the Lord Jesus: “..., let your light shine
before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in
heaven.”(Matthew 5:16,NIV). In fact, on the other hand, we ought to be
aware, this scripture does not say that they may see our good deeds and glorify
us. Thus, when we do what is good and get no credit, make sure that we give
thanks to our God the Father, rejoice and be glad, because people will see our
good works and honor the Lord our God, Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
